Terms of Service
Last Updated: April 13, 2026
Welcome to Voiced Legacy. By accessing our website, booking a consultation, or commissioning our archival services, you agree to the following terms governing our relationship and the creation of your family archive.
I. Commissions & The Archival Process
- Consultations: Initial consultations are provided to discuss the scope, vision, and suitability of a Voiced Legacy commission. Booking a consultation does not guarantee a commission.
- The Interview: The core of our service involves in-depth, personal interviews. We reserve the right to pause or terminate the interview process if our archivists feel the environment is unsafe, disrespectful, or unsuitable for production.
- Project Timelines: Due to the bespoke, museum-grade nature of our work, project timelines are estimates. We prioritize the quality and integrity of the final archive over expedited delivery.
II. Intellectual Property & Ownership
The allocation of rights regarding the final cinematic portrait is fundamental to our service:
- Client Ownership: Upon final delivery and full payment, the Patron retains full private ownership of the completed cinematic archive and raw footage (if included in the commission tier).
- Voiced Legacy Rights: Voiced Legacy retains the copyright to the underlying cinematic techniques, original music compositions (unless licensed specifically for the client), and proprietary editing processes.
- Portfolio Usage: We respect the extreme privacy of our clients. No footage from a private commission will ever be used in our public portfolio or marketing materials without the explicit, written consent of the Patron.
III. Financial Terms
The financial structure for a Voiced Legacy commission ensures the dedication of our resources to your family’s project.
- Deposits: A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your production dates and initiate the pre-interview research phase.
- Payment Schedules: The remaining balance is structured according to your specific Commission Agreement and must be finalized prior to the delivery of the completed archive or physical artifacts.
- Cancellations: If a commission is cancelled by the client after production has commenced, the client is responsible for all costs incurred up to the point of cancellation.
IV. Use of the Public Website
While navigating voicedlegacy.com:
- Copyright: All content, text, imagery, and design on this website are the intellectual property of Voiced Legacy. Unauthorized reproduction or use is strictly prohibited.
- Accuracy of Information: We strive to ensure all information regarding our packages and services is accurate, but we reserve the right to update or modify details, including pricing, without prior notice.
V. Limitation of Liability
Voiced Legacy is dedicated to the highest standards of archival preservation. However, we cannot be held liable for the loss or damage of physical artifacts or digital files once they have been successfully delivered to the Patron. It is the Patron’s responsibility to maintain secure backups of all delivered media.
